What is a Professional Life Coach?

A professional life coach is someone who helps you reach your goals or make a change in your life. It is a one on one relationship that provides a supportive and non – judgmental space to help you create what you want for yourself. Your coach is someone who supports you, motivates you and will hold you accountable to achieving your vision for yourself. I will help you create more balance in your life, make those positive changes, overcome limiting behaviors and take actions toward becoming the person that you want to be. Whatever it is that you want in your life, I will help you get there.

What to expect from a life coaching session?

Each session is tailored to the client and will vary based on individual needs. In the beginning we will focus on what you are committed to accomplishing through our work together and we will begin to create a plan to achieve your goals, we will work together to acknowledge obstacles, explore alternate perspectives and celebrate success.  With the conclusion of each session, we will revisit your goals and evaluate the next steps that are needed to achieve the results.

How long do people generally work with a life coach?

Most people get what they need out of life coaching in between 8-16 sessions.

At the start of your coaching session, it is helpful to meet weekly at least a few times, so that you can begin getting tractions toward your goals. Once you are making process and keeping up your motivation, you can meet with your coach every two to three weeks so that you have plenty of time to work on your assignment between sessions. It is very important to stay focused and on target. When the time is right, you and your coach will both know that your work together is done. You’ll be able to continue your journey toward success independently and apply everything that you have learned in coaching to your new goals.

What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

A common misconception is that coaching is the same as therapy, when in fact they are quite different. Therapy is intended to help people recover from emotional and other psychological disorders such as depression or anxiety, thus working on the clients past. Coaching on the other hand is intended to help healthy individuals achieve personal goals, therefore working on the clients future.
